18” x 24” archival print on heavyweight fine art matte paper of The Divine Mother painting.
One morning, I woke with a surge of heat moving through my body and an undeniable knowing that I needed to paint.
I hadn’t touched a canvas in nearly a year. I’d been immersed in working on our Tarot project, and a big blank canvas has been sitting in my studio untouched. I didn’t understand why this energy was moving through me… only that it was something I couldn’t ignore.
Within 48 hours, she emerged.
The Divine Mother appeared against a smoky sky. At the time, I didn’t question the choices, I simply followed what was coming through.
Less than two hours after I placed the final brushstroke, we were given an evacuation order. Fires were ravaging through Los Angeles, and we had to leave our home behind.
The flames came within minutes of reaching us.
And yet, our home was protected, with the Divine Mother watching over it.
Only later did the painting fully reveal itself to me.
The green cloak ~ the potency and protection of the heart.
The white lilies ~ death, rebirth, and renewal.
Six lilies ~ the number six representing the mother.
In the midst of chaos, this piece became a presence of faith.
A quiet reminder that even in the unknown, we are held.
This painting carries that energy ~ and it’s an honor to pass it on to you.
